UPSC National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Exam 2019

The Union Public Service Commission conducts the NDA & NA Examination twice each year.  This exam will fill vacancies in the executive and technical fields of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

●Total Number of Posts: 415

National Defense Academy: 370 Posts (Indian Army-208, Indian Navy-42, Indian Air Force-120) - Indian Naval Academy-45 Posts (10 + 2 Cadet Entry Scheme)

●Age: Age between 18 to 21 years.  (Should have been born between 2 January 2001 and 1 January 2004).
●Physical standards: - Height: 157.5 cm, (Indian Air Force 162.5 cm) - Weight: Must be light weight.  -View: 6/6, 6/9 -Physical fitness test-2.4km in 15 minutes.  Complete the distance - Skipping should be done - 3-4 meters rope climbing.  -20 push ups and 8 chin ups.
●Application Fee: Rs.  100 / - General / OBC (No fee for SC / ST candidates)  56,100 / - during training. 
●Qualifications: From Lieutenant / Sub Lieutenant / Flying Officer in Army / Navy / Air Force to General / Admiral / Air Chief Marshal. 
●Testing Centers: The examination will be conducted in 41 centers across the country including Hyderabad, Tirupati, Vizag and Bangalore.
●Option: Written Examination and Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. 
●Written Examination: Written test is for 900 marks.  This paper consists of two sections (Paper 1 and Paper 2).  Each paper was allocated 150 minutes.  Mathematics (Paper 1) - 300 marks, General Ability Test (Paper 2) - 600 marks.  - 900 marks for SSB Test / Interview - Total (Written Test + SSB Test / Interview) - 1800 marks.  - Paper 1 (Maths) includes Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry (2 or 3 Dimensions), Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus & Differential Equations, Differential Equations, Differential Equations  In Part-A of the Paper-2 (General Ability Test), you will be asked questions from General Knowledge (Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Freedom Movement, Geography and Current Events) in Part-A.
Written test has negative marking policy.
The merit test (144th course for NDA and 106th course for Naval Academy) will commence on July 2, 2020.  --Degree:

Selected for the Army, Navy and Air Force Departments of the National Defense Academy  Three years of academic and physical training.  For the first two-and-a-half years, three students have the same training.  Candidates selected for the three services will be awarded the following degree certificates from Jawaharlal Nehru University upon completion of training.
●Army Cadets - BSc / BSc / BA (Computer)
●Naval Cadets - BTech
●Air Force Cadets - BTech
The Naval Academy in AGM has four years of academic and physical training.  After the training, they are awarded a BTech certificate.  After successful completion of training in NDA, Army candidates will be sent to Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Indian Naval Academy (Ezimala) for Naval candidates and Air Force candidates to Hyderabad Air Force Academy.  They are trained in the respective departments for a year and then assigned to the rank of Lieutenants.
